Gravity

Down I fall,

Empty hearted heavy handed,

Tongue held fast,

Like a mute with a speech impediment,

But upon my lips,

Is a look of doubt,

I’m not sure if you understand

For these words I can’t force out.

Only one wish I possess

On my journey below,

To kiss her upon the cheek,

As my last chance to let her know,

She’s the reason I fought,

She’s the reason I stood,

Even if I could resist her charm,

I don’t believe I would.

I was willingly forced to love her,

A most delightful oppression,

I wouldn’t have it any other way,

That alone is my confession,

But still alone I fall,

Amongst gravity’s strength,

Flying straight towards the bottom,

Distance is an arbitrary length.

The floor is getting closer,

Clearer, nearer, growing,

I close my eyes and wait for impact,

Suddenly!..

Nothing…

She is there, serenity tenfold,

Is death so simple as a last touch to the skin?

Is life so simple as the absence therein?

She holds my hand, and I hold Hers,

No words are needed, we’ve lost use for those,

A peace that’s more real than any sensation experienced.

Eternity is a long time,
