I'm watching my country die.
It's rather depressing to be honest. . .
I once held the opinion that; the United States is the greatest nation ever. No other state or nation has or will come close to matching it's grandeur.
I wish i could still say the same.
But my faith in this country is no longer existent. I have faith in its capacity for grandeur, I have hope that there will be a better day. But I cannot say that i have hope or faith in this nation.
This nation, why have we faltered? We allow ourselves to be controlled by a media with a obvious agenda. Greed, they support a government system that favors them. They seek money, recognition. Regardless of party affiliation. Parties... What a joke. while there may be some politicians that still try to represent the people who have elected them, many more live for their own gain.
Maybe I sound a little bit cynical, but that is only through observation.
Ignorance IS bliss. It was much easier to believe that the elected wanted my well being when i ignored the details of their actions.
Now we have an economy, on the brink of a total crash. What are the political parties doing? creating their own monopolies. Forcing companies to take their bailout cash then slipping conditions in. Companies don't want to be nationalized. There's a reason for the private market. But the government forced companies to take the money, even those who didn't want it. The money was for their own good. Now look whats happened, big brother controls most of our banking system, one of the largest insurance agencies, most of the United States auto mobile manufacturing...
The concept of "free market" has apparently gone out of style...
I have faith and hope in something greater than this country, something better than myself. Something, Someone not restrained by the mortality and scumish tendencies of this world...
